Our
fabrics have always been sought after by people looking for economically
priced natural materials in wide widths. As most of our fabrics are
loom state (natural and untreated), they are not always suitable for
all furnishing applications. Loom state cottons and linens will shrink
by up to 15% on their length when first washed, and linen is also
prone to staining during the washing
process. To overcome this, we are developing a range of washed fabrics
in natural colours for furnishing applications. Some will be new
fabrics; others will be washed and finished versions of popular
items already in our range. Complementing these products will be
our current selection of hessians, linings and other furnishing
sundries.
Where our fabrics
are listed as being NDFR flame retardant it will be to BS 5867 Part
2 Type B, unless otherwise stated. This level of flame retardant
finish is suitable for contract drapes and curtains. It is not the
British Standard for upholstery fabrics. Fabrics for contract upholstery
are given a flame retardant finish to a much higher standard. Any
use of our fabrics for this purpose is solely the responsibility
of the customer. |
