Stretcher Bars
Though the technology used to make expanding stretcher frames is several centuries old, wooden stretcher bars still provide the best solution for mounting artwork on canvas. All these bars will slot together with no fixings required. Use a mallet to square up the frames and check by measuring the diagonals - if both dimensions are the same then it is square. The bars are supplied with wooden wedges, two per corner. Knock these into the corner slots after stretching and use them to re-tension the canvas if it slackens off.
