These professional quality canvases are primed with an acid free titanium alkyd oil primer and stretched on kiln dried stretcher bars. Exceptional product manufactured by Clearstar Coatings Corp and designed specifically for varnishing inkjet prints on canvas. This water-based lacquer will remain flexible and nonyellowing. It contains UV filters to protect the print from light damage, comes in three finishes and can be applied by brush, roller or spray. The 30° Satin finish is a very low gloss finish without the colour deadness associated with full mat lacquers. Clearshield Type C is for use on ‘water resistant’ type mat canvases printed with pigmented aqueous. For dye based inks use the AFA Aerosol or Printguard.

These canvases are stretched using a strong Cotton / Polyester blend canvas with a pronounced texture.
The canvas is extremely strong and durable and has a universal acrylic priming, making it suitable for both oil and acrylic paints.
The canvases are stapled at the back and are 21mm (7/8in) deep.

Museo aluminium stretcher bars stretchers are a museum grade aluminium wood composite bar 45mm deep. The wooden edge strip is made of laminated pine and allows easy stapling at the back of the canvas. These deep edge stretchers have a 27mm lip to raise the canvas away from the bars. The aluminium body gives excellent stability, making these bars completely resistant to warping. The strength of the aluminium also means that fewer cross-bars are needed to support the stretcher frame. The stretcher frame can be re-tensioned using an Allen key.
