The Russell & Chapple 12oz Primed Cotton Duck is triple primed and made using our our own smooth and heavy 12oz Cotton. The primer is a high quality European make. It is sold by the metre and the 10m roll.
The 12oz Studio Primed Cotton Duck is a double primed version using the same base canvas.
The Fredrix fabric has a rougher medium / coarse texture.
The 144 in Fredrix canvas is hand primed on frames as it is wider than the coating line.

This is a hard-wearing acrylic used to increase the durability of the paint film. Adding 780 Coating to Bristol scenic paint will extend the life of exterior paint-work and give increased scuff resistance. Adhesion to difficult surfaces such as plastic and metal is also improved. 780 Coating is also used to prevent colour separation when mixing Bristol Metallic colours with other colours from the range to produce metallic tints.

Museo aluminium stretcher bars stretchers are a museum grade aluminium wood composite bar 25mm deep. The wooden edge strip is made of laminated pine and allows easy stapling at the back of the canvas. These stretchers have a 7mm lip to raise the canvas away from the bars. The aluminium body gives excellent stability, making these bars completely resistant to warping. The strength of the aluminium also means that fewer cross-bars are needed to support the stretcher frame. The stretcher frame can be re-tensioned using an Allen key. Aluminium Stretcher Bars are supplied complete with corner fittings.
